Hello to all. I am a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) headquartered in Columbia, PA. http://www.NAWCC.org. It is a Horological website. I had a question to one of their online forums and this site was recommended. I had written "I recently bought ,from eBay, a used 3 axis CNC Sherline mill. It came with a Win98 computer with Microkinetics 'Mill Master Pro' CNC software. I now need to learn how to use it and use it smartly. Has anyone been down this road? I would think a CAD program would simplify making a drawing and then convert it to the G-code that MillMaster uses." I do have lathe experience but nothing in use of CNC/CAD/CAM. Besides using it to fabricate clock parts including gears I might try it for modeling (steam engines). Any thoughts, ideas, etc.,. on the process of using a mill will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Harry from Fayetteville, PA |

| You may want to take a look at Cut2D from Vectric, it is a very nice inexpensive CAD program for making your clock parts. http://www.vectric.com/WebSite/Vectr.../c2d_index.htm Welcome to the Zone, Jeff...
