| I just found this online, and wanted to share it with everyone here - Very cool mechanically, but kind of creepy to watch in operation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCPlczI3k-c#t=0m54s It is a pair of cordless drill motors and lots of cool mechanical legs - no balancing software required as there are always 6 feet on the ground at any one time. | Neatman; Did you just find this randomly or are you connected to Cajuncrawler? I put cajun crawler into Google and found it is out of the University of Louisiana. I wonder if those geeks realise the value of this mechanism for wheelchairs? I guess they wouldn't be wheelchair if they used this type of mechanism.

| Here is a little bigger version. You can see the guy controlling it inside.

| Pretty cool It appears that it wouldn't work too well off of a flat surface - and in that case you still might as well use wheels

| How about a roll yer own. The dimensions in the jpeg are from the original designer. By adjusting the various arms you can determine the height of step the mechanism can clear.

| DR Motion- Thanks for posting the pictures - I was interested to see if someone had the geometery on these legs. Kimfab - I like the video's. Geof - I'm not connected with Cajuncrawler - I work where the Segway was invented. Keith |
