I'm a new member here and just following orders and saying hi. I'm a programmer working in Atlanta, GA and have always had an interest in electronics and robotics. Some of my hobbies center around that such as R/C planes and PIC programming.

I found cnczone while searching for ideas on a homemade desktop CNC machine to make cases and decorative pieces for my projects. This forum is a fantastic wealth of information and ideas and I'm thankful for all the posts here.

My plan is to build a much smaller machine than most of those I have seen on the site. It needs to be capable of cutting plexi pieces up to 12" square with high resolution. I am not real experienced with plexi but know enough after hand cutting it that joints have to be fairly precise before gluing to be air and water tight. I intend to commercially release a network storage device and want to produce my own cases based on my handmade prototypes.

I can't provide much info on machinery but have a ton of knowledge about computers and operating systems. Hopefully I can help someone else in those areas in exchange for all the ideas I have from reading these threads.

Welcome to the zone. I think you will find a lot of help from the folks here. All you have to do is ask and someone will jump in.
