Hello all,
I've been lurking around these pages for ages and thought I'd throw out a "Hello" after all this time! I'm now in the process of collecting parts and materials for a home brewed router and so far it looks good. I have a set of THK rails for 3 axis and a few steppers to drive them. Now if everyone would please quit outbidding me on those ebay leadscrews I'd be set. I have an Enco mill/drill that I'll convert to CNC later but until then it's going to help build my router. I also forgot that over a year ago I bought 3 Gecko G210's with the same thing in mind....losing my mind at this age. I do plan on documenting this adventure and sharing with everyone...the thrills and defeat of home engineering. My goal is to learn what I can with a router then to convert my mill drill for cnc and play with some aluminum. I do have some programming experience so later (after the mill/drill conversion) I plan to build a table top machine for the semiconductor industry. Seems there is never an end to the ideas that come and very little time for even one! Yes dear, I'll take out the trash
