Hello All,
My name is Bob and I'm a woodworker that purchased a legacy mill 5 years ago. For those not familiar, its a manual crank 4 axis machine with a plunge router mounted to the carriage. I've been considering upgrading the machine with a CNC package but no nothing about servo, controllers, and software. the salesman has two upgrade kits, one for 4K and one for 9k, and when I tried to get him to explain the difference he was a vague. I asked for pictures, and he sends me photos of what the CNC package will do not what I'm purchasing. I asked for specs on what I would be getting and his answer was 4 servos and a control box, which to me is like buying a car based on it having 4 tires and an engine. I joined looking for a better understanding on the various components and wonder if I wouldn't be better off putting the pieces together myself. Thanks B |
