mamay here. glad i found this site. just starting on my cnc adventure. i will be pursuing a cnc rig for woodworking - router and lathe. i'm a hobbiest but am serious about the woodworking fun i have time for. i don't have many years of manual lathe work left in my hands and i need to figure a way to continue this passion. i need a new pc so i'm researching cad/cam software to ensure that i get the pc i need. so, i am simultaniously looking at cnc machines since this will eventually need to all come together. i can afford to spend a few bucks and i'm inclined to get what i need up front or at least have a clear path to move to the next piece of equipment (cnc router, add lathe later). i have a decent sized shop that is wired for 220. i have looked at shopbots, techno and a couple of others. i'm open to any and all feedback, advice. i'll be spending some time on this site to try to glean knowledge from your collective wisdom. mamay |
