Anybody heard of Burt Munro? Here is a link: http://motorcyclemuseum.org/halloffa...age.asp?id=381 Here is the book: I think the guy was an absolute genius doing what he did with such limited equipment.

| Burt Munro is the first person I think of when someone says Kiwi. Along with John Britten. Both very talented, passionate and driven individuals. Both had a fascination/love affair with two-wheeled machines. I have a copy of The World's Fastest Indian. As soon as it was out on DVD I had to have it. Not enough movies like this. Most of it is just Fast & Furious type crap. |

| World's Fastest Indian. Now that was a proper film. I liked the bit when they asked Munro about his tyres "I made them slicks on account of the balancing you see, anything unbalanced at that speed would cause loss of control... so I cut the knobly bits off with a knife" Not word for word, but you get the gist. The man was a bloody genius. At one point he had to cut his toe-nails cos he was going on a date if I recall... he ended up using and angle grinder if memory serves me right. A proper feel good film. Every engineer should see it
