If your local Dairy Queen is closed from September through May, you may live in Ohio... If someone in a Home Depot store offers you assistance and they don't work there, you may live in Ohio... If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you may live in Ohio... If a "Vacation" means going anywhere south of Columbus for the weekend, you may live in Ohio... If you measure distance in hours, you may live in Ohio... If you know several people who have hit a deer more than once, you may live in Ohio... If you have switched from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day and back again, you may live in Ohio... If you can drive 75 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard without flinching, you may live in Ohio... If you install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked, you may live in Ohio... If you carry jumper cables in your car and your wife knows how to use them, you may live in Ohio... If you design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit, you may live in Ohio... If the speed limit on the highway is 55 mph and you're going 80 and everybody is passing you, you may live in Ohio... If driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow, you may live in Ohio... If you know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and road construction, you may live in Ohio... If you have more miles on your snow blower than your car, you may live in Ohio... If you find 10 degrees "a little chilly", you may live in Ohio... If summer time means orange barrels and Harley's on the side of the road, you may live in Ohio... If you actually understand these jokes, you definitely live in Ohio!! |

| If you've ever driven the Ohio Turnpike in winter, you'll appreciate the fact that you live or are in Ohio. I've driven that in some pretty bad weather and, for all intent and pruposed, the road is well maintianed and kept snow free exeept under the most severe of weather. It takes some real nasty weather to close down the Ohio "Pike. Yes, I"m the idiot in a 2wd car, with snow tires of course, who's running in the passing late at 75 in 2" of snow. After all, there are eggs to dig and worms to lay.... |

| In my case, it's every road north of the turnpike that's torn up! The one thing I do remember from driving up to Detroit was that I couldn't drive in the far right lane, can't remember the road, but it goes straight into detroit right from the Ohio turnpike, if I remember right, and there are so many tractor trailers driving that road that they wore grooves into it! I was driving my Mustang and that car rides like hell as it is. |

I looked at my friend and tapped on my speedo, he just shook his head. And it was just a normal weekday afternoon in April, glad we got through before rush-hour! |

| The reaods with connestoga like ruts were 23 north out of toledo and 1485 that took you from Turnpike to I75 just thur and ntorh of Toledo. 75 was pretty rutted as they had higher leagal load limits due to the car parts makers in MI. Imagine a load of camsats - you can put a lot of heavy parts paked densley into a 40 ft box. MC: are you in/around Sandusk? I"m originally from Youngstown and spent nearly 20 years in Cleveland before moving to Ann ARbor. |

| It was I75, I remember now. I'm in Perry, 40 miles east of Cleveland right on the lake. If your from Youngstown, I'm sure you've heard of the Perry Nuclear Power Plant, I can see it from my back window, it's great! Like looking at 2 potential bombs! FYI, I'm not really concerned, if anything happens, I'd probably rather be DOA than deal with radiation sickness. Talk to the Germans about Cherbynol. And I used to know an engineer over there, probably wasn't supposed to tell me that they have 6 back-up water pumps to fill the reactor if something goes wrong, only one worked when tested (granted one pump will do the job). That was a while back and they shut the plant down for probably 6 weeks and this area was flooded with traveling nuke workers of all trades. I know quite a few people who worked there while they were building it from 1977 to 1987, they have stories! |

| Well, I've just broken my fourth ice scraper, and we're less than a month into our Ohio winter. Last week, was driving to work. Saw a car leaning against a guardrail. Vertically. With the headlights pointing straight up. How ??? Our local government seems to think that road salt is a luxury that we can't afford. These are the same idiots who swear that red-light cameras are strictly there for the public safety. They position police cruisers at icey expressway ramps. Must be cheaper than actually melting the ice.
