Geof,

I've been to the Haas website and saw the 'interactive' controller page. You're right, it's not very effective, as it shows you the key areas (to include the beacon... I thought that was hilarious), but not really the display pages.

I appreciate you taking the time to check it out. Best regards.

The big difference in the pages is that now it displays on one page what used to take two or three. I found it a bit confusing, still do sometimes, because you go looking for something that used to be a few keystrokes away and now it pops up earlier so you go past and cannot find it.

We just got a new hass at work and I really think there is too much on one page. But it is cool as heck. There are some really nice conversational macros programmed into it with the ability to add your own.

antichip,

thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, for your addition to this thread. The very few replies posted here keep saying that it's just a different look, and that if I'm proficient with earlier controllers I should have no problem. But there IS a lot of new macro, and I was just hoping to find a web site (a YouTube demo or something????) that showed those screens and could at least get me comfortable with the navigation of those newer features.

Thanks for your 'up to date' take on the new software. Peace

... so be it. I've gotten nothing useful from here anyway. Peace.
I would you suggest you post over in the http://www.cnczone.com/
I reckon you will fit right in

There is the main moderator/site owner? When he poses a question, if the answer is not exactly what he wants to hear, he will usually heap abuse or insults to the poster.
I left there way back for this very reason.

Al The Man,

I'm sorry you think I'm such an abusive naysayer. Fact is, that's not me at all. If you look at the progression of my thread, when I expressed my frustration of not getting any valuable replies to my query, someone decided to tell me that I was searching for a needle in a haystack. I've since made peace with this poster (as is obvious from the thread), and I finally received an addition from someone who is obviously familiar with the specifics of my original post.

Still, if you would like to engage me in a 'battle of the online wits', by all means post another reply to this thread. I'm not at ALL trying to convey the impression that all replies should be specific to my query, and thus helpful, but if you (as well... ) want to hand me down a life lesson, let's make this happen, rather than trying to divert me to another site. =)

Peace

The manner in which you 'expressed frustration' and the manner you responded to me was abusive naysaying. Why don't you tone down your responses a bit.

For the most part, these types of forums consist of some who ask questions and those that voluntarily try to answer them.
This is NOT the official support line for Haas/Fanuc/Mazak etc.
The point I think is lost on many people who do not get the answer they are looking for get a bit frustrated.
I think it is a testament to Geoff's patience that in spite of the rub, he still tried to help you.
If you don't like any answers or do not find them useful, just ignore them and sift out the ones you find are.
I think on the whole, this site is one of the 'saner' and better policed sites, and I belong to a few.
Al.
(BTW Geoff gets paid the same amount as me)
