| The fellow buys and sells. He has 4 of them and they came from a school. They look really good. Hardly any paint wear. I plan to check them out. He advised he has 2 gap beds and a solid bed. Which is better? |

| A gap bed lathe will allow you to turn larger diameter work close to the chuck by removing the "gap". I have not noticed a difference between the machines. I have never had the need to remove the gap on any of the turning that I have done. It could be nice to have depending on what you do. You can almost never have too many options, or a machine too big. |
