ShopBot with dos - Can I upgrade?

Does anyone have any info on upgrading ShopBot DOS or using a newer version of windows than 98? We are looking at a used purchase of a 10 year old Shopbot. Can we use something else to control the router? Or other programs? Your advice is greatly needed!! We are looking at using it for engraving and sign manufacture.

Welcome to the Zone.

You will have to upgrade the Control System.

ShopBot may offer a upgrade however it wont be cheap.

It is possible to find a freelance tech to upgrade the drives or do it yourself and save some money.

My sister and I run the sign shop here in Oregon but we were born outside of Chicago, in Northbrook.
Thanks again, we will work on it and see what we can upgrade.

You might have to swap out the drives, but then you can run Mach3. You might want to contact Bob at www.campbelldesigns.com, I believe he's done a few conversions.
