This is some info about FabLab, an MIT innovation that promotes CNC machines for local manufacturer of items in diverse environments. The idea seems to be to have a lab that can create almost anything using CNC machines, in the future even more CNC machines. You can find what looks like some free software, some good info about CNC, and a lot of empty directories that I assume will be filled with good stuff in the future. | I saw the fab lab in make magazine. I was thinking that it could be built much cheaper and with a greater ability to build things. I haven't looked yet but you might be able to build a vinal cutter and a laser cutting machine for a lot cheaper that the ones quoted in the make magazine article |
