I am new here I happened to be blessed with a full machine shop (that happens to have Jesus era equipment) I sorta inherited this wonderful collection from my former client who recently passed away. I have been told by his son that he wants to start doing production work again and I am building a log splitter and trying to cool all of the machines I use. I had gotten the Carolina bandsaw running with coolant then the base started to leak ( I gave up on that for right now) I then found a mist coolant set up and set it up on the Bridgeport then that crapped out and the final thing I tried to fix was on the old lathe with a three phase pump which sprayed coolant all over the place and "warmed" the lathe a little bit so needless to say I got some work to do as far as cooling is concerned. I was raised around machine shops and I helped clean out a lot of them when I was growing up and now I have one of my own . I hope to once I get this place up and going get my self a nice young smart kid that knows CNC and can help set up a plasma table and run some CNC equipment, I want to convert the 1949 Bridgeport over to a nice CNC set up (Centriod brand) and have this shop pretty well paying for it's upgrades. |
