I've just become the happy owner of an old DRO (Sony MagneScale LF-100). I got it for free as it didn't work properly. After some checking and testing I found that a bad contact was causing all the problems. Now to my question... The machine the DRO used to be mounted on is much larger than my small hobby lathe. The scale for X (Sony SR50 160A) is much to long to fit on my lathe and in my hobby room. Is it possible to cut down the scale without ruin it's function ?? I'm not familiar with how this kind of equipment works so i want to be sure before I start to dismantle the scale. If somebody can help me with advice I'll be very great full. Best regards /Stefan |
