Hello,I'm new to the site...but I have been a manual machinist for 20 yrs....just wanted to say howdy and was wanting to know if anyone else in the community is from bama...?

Hi LilDavid. I'm in the Birmingham area (Bessemer). But I'm just a hobbyist. If I had to make a living as a machinist, I'd be dead 'cause I'm sooooo slooooow. Never mind all the end mills I keep chipping and or burning because I'm too lazy to figure out proper feeds and speeds and WRITE THEM DOWN.

ive got my notes since high school 1988,plus a ready reference,plus a 13th 18th and 27th.edition machinist handbook...........but hands on i kinda gudge it by sound. but im just a manual machinist,one day when i grow up..lol...i may get to be a cnc machinist....well nice hereing from ya drop me a line sometime

Welcome aboard. I am from below I-10, so down south Alabama. CNC is a slippery slope, so watch your step (pun intended) around here.
