There are plenty of posts here from people who say they've never made a dime using those services.
I just want to make everybody aware of that mfg.com alias mfgquote.com is a fraud. They take your money and deliver nothing. Be aware and be informed.
I don't want to take to much space... for more details go to: www.mfgscam.com or www.mfgsucks.com

Gerry,
I am trying to help others to be aware of these predators and save them money and headache. It cost us $6,000 for this lesson. I am using CNCzone a lot of times to get answers on machining problems and I can say that it does a great job for the machining community.
+1 To hell with MFG QUOTE and to hell with MITCH FREE! I would love to meet him in person.
Pay your attorney a couple of bucks, they will go away. That's what I did.
I would simply like to thank the people who took their time and warned the people out there like me that MFG.com is a scam. I wasn't far from registering with them and wasting my money.
Thanks again.
Been down that road. They really do suck. IMO, a total rip off.
I just found this while looking for competitors to their site.... http://mfgforum.net/
BTW, I am a buyer, so I've never paid a dime, but just thought I'd pass this on.
I made the mistake of using MFG.com and it was DISASTER. It burned up alot of money for nothing. Total waste. I should've taken that money and driven around to different industrial parks. I could've gotten (and did get) more business that way.
Stay away.

Gentleman,
I have had two experiences with MFG and neither was good. We are a small shop working out of Illinois. Now I have to tell you that I have been in the trade since 1972 and have never been out of work usually work 7 days a week for the last 19 years until about 2008.
We do many things but thought I might start looking for a broader sales base so we gave them a try. Well the first year we never secured even one lead. I vowed that I would never join again. Well in 2011 things got worse and I had call after call coming in asking to participate in their sales. Like a fool I thought I'd give it one more try. Here are the results of that experience.
Nothing really available for a shop our size but got sales leads to participate in high investment jobs. I am certainly not gonna tool up 300-500k for a job that may or may not pan out. This one happened to be making sport knives. Then I started to quote jobs low to see what happens. Then bam like a ton of bricks each was lost to the overseas market by a local representative. Example: Average quote 1800.00 out of 16. Mine came in at 1100.00 and was beaten by a Chinese firm for 270.00. I could not supply material and shipping for that amount. I can site more but the results are the same.
I told the MFG rep that there is no sales advantage for the manufacture. The buyer has no investment, pays no fee and expects you in most cases to purchase material, setup shipping at your expense and deliver product to make them happy. THIS IS A JOKE. As to loyalty factor, I doubt there is any.
Our contract ended Sep 9 of 2012. I delete all their mails and certainly hang up should they call me again. Stupid is me 2880.00 later. Hope this helps.
I might add, if places like this continue to grow for what ever reason, we will be working for minimum wage in no time and eating our investments while the big companies laugh all the way to the bank.
A fair price for a great product.....thats all I'm saying.

I have a customer who is also the head of engineering. They also have tool rooms overseas. Five years ago, the top salary for a seasoned toolmaker in their Taiwan facility was 1700.00 per year. They make hearing aids. Now compete with that.
