I want to build a fishing reel similar to a Penn Torque 100. There are few things I want different, but then again that's why I want to build my own. Has anyone done anything like this. I guess I will have to get someone to draw one up and add the features I want. The Penn is a good design, so my base design should be close to that. This will be my first project, if it works out I will load my boat with these. I know some of the parts I can just buy after market and come out better. I think all I will be making will be the frame, ends, and drive components. What do you guys think about this project. any advice would be great. And again if anyone has done this before, please feel free to share some insights. Jim |

| Good luck on improving the design. The only thing I don't like about the TRQ100 is the handle, as I prefer the angle on the TBar handles, even though they aren't the right shape. Belt grinding a new on fixes that. Wish you sucess on your project. |
