Hello everyone. I have been lurking here for a while and thought I should post something. I am very new to CNC and am having a router built, it should be done in 2-3 weeks. I have been looking at various software and have downloaded Mach3 and a few design programs. I am considering Vcarv Pro, it seems to have the engraving features I need. I have a laser that I use for engraving and cutting now but really need the extra capabilities of a cnc router/engraver.

The two things I am stull unsure about are the router itself and the design software. I though a Rotozip RZ20 would work well, it has a 3 jaw chuck and variable speed. There is a Hitachi 2-1/4hp router that I am considering as well - any opinions about which one will give me the best accuracy?
As for software, I'm considering Enroute, FlexiEngrave, Vcarve and ArtCAM. Any opinions on these, again primarily for engraving?
