Hello all. I have been a hobbyist knife maker/blacksmith for about 5 years and started looking at an X2 mill to use in my knife hobby. Being limited in space and funds, the X2 seemed to fit my needs. As a total novice at machining, I joined some machinist forums to get some info/input before making a purchase. After about 2 months of reading posts, it seems the general attitude ranges from "toy to POS". I am saving to purchase one anyway. Then ,by accident, I discovered this site. WOW! A whole forum dedicated to bench top mills. I have learned more in a few hours, than months on the other sites. A great big "Thanks".

| Hi Mike. The X2 is a good machine. It is not a POS or a toy. It was the first mill I had. I even converted it to CNC. I have since upgraded to a Bridgeport clone (which I have also converted to CNC). I'm located in Granite Falls, NC (about seven miles north of Hickory), which is about an hour from you. If you would like to talk or see my shop give me a call, (828) 396-7977. Rich Goldner |
