    Manufacturing upswing or down?

Wll i was just curious where people feel their business is in relation to demand for work. I currently work for a manufacturer of automated machinery, and sales have ramped up sharply. They filled up a second shift, instituted mandatory overtime, and farm out many parts to a few select job shops, and there is still more work than can be done.
Though i know most places aren't as busy as this.
    How busy are you?

I work at a machine shop supply in Canada, and right now because of the Christmas break we are slow, but he have been in operation for 18 years and never been busier. This is due to increased oilsand research in Saskatchewan. This isn't for all of Canada, but we are very busy and will be for years to come.

I think this a subjective question. It depends on what country your refering to!!! If your talking about Mexico or China for instance? Well obviously their in a major league upswing!!! This country? God only knows… But I don't think any upswing in this country would be in manufacturing except for maybe "IMPORTING" the manufacturing!!!!!!!

There has been an upswing of sorts in manufacturing in the USA. Mostly because the weakening dollar makes US goods less expensive to foreign markets and foreign (to the US) produced goods more expensive in the US. I don't think this will last, however.
