Nuts are driving me nuts!

Help me! I need to buy a single M15x1 locknut but can't find anyone that sells them.

Also needed is a 15mm flange mount bearing. Also very hard to find.

Try talking to a car mechanic working on Japanese and European cars.
That seems an odd dimension, but it may be used on a generator shaft.

Try Fastenal, they have stores everywhere and have almost any kind of fastener.

Most unusual threads as in the case of a M15x1 nut are generally not available. It may be a good idea to check a Machineries Handbook to see if it’s a standard of some sort, (its possibility a conduit thread). Your two alternatives are to bye a tap from an industrial hardware, they can also have one custom made to your specifications, and make a nut. Or to screw cut one yourself if you have a screw cutting lathe. Another alternative is to replace the bolt to suit a more standard thread style, avoiding the problem altogether.

Best of luck Mark

It's a thrust bearing thread on a ballscrew (hard to replace). I don't have access to a lathe right now.

These nuts are available in the US. Try www.Metricmcc.com. Look under 981 lock nuts. The nut is a km2. they are $3.60 each but there is a minumum.
