Where can I find white muslin aprons that have a waist level pocket, and a swinging left chest micrometer pocket? I am not a Carpenter with a blue denim apron. Some people feel any apron is fine, but the white muslin apron represents the trade. Now that I'm being (gladly) drug back into it, I'd like the white apron to represent my shop. I haven't found a supplier yet, but have just hit the cheap places like Enco. Time to try McMaster-Carr I suppose. |

| Funny. I remember back in the UK back in the early 80s as I walked past the factories at closing time I could tell the trades by what they wore. Machinist blue pants and blue shirt Snr. Machinist blue pants, blue shirt and blue shop coat Shift lead Blue pants, blue shirt and white shop coat Engineer Blue pants, white shirt, white shop coat The predominance of blue was because it was a Ford town. Other departments had similar color schemes e.g. then engine house had green coats for seniority. Place turned into a ghost town under Maggie :-( |

You should be able to get the coat you want on E-Bay I'd have thought. Perhaps under protective clothing? Here's some links I found: http://www.zemskys.com/dickies/lab-coats-aprons.htm http://coverallstore.com/toolapron.htm http://www.schooluniforms.com/workaprons.html I have no connectioin with these companies.

| Must be a British thing, ours were the blue denim stuff. Even the shop coats were blue, but they weren't denim. The shop coats were HBT's (Herringbone twill) like the old US Army fatique uniforms.

The best aprons I've ever had were made by seven mile creek. They have sewn my aprons for a few years now, I have 2 swinging breast pockets, he gets the waist pockets just right, if you are like me and can't work without an apron on, call Bill, he has what you need. |

| The last person I saw wearing a white apron at our shop... Was some guy in a pickup truck who stopped in our lot. Third shift, about 1:30 am. He was selling meat. The white apron was slightly blood stained. Needless to say, we all became vegetarians that night. Blue denim works for me. Hides dirt. And blood.
