Where to buy used VMC? | | Greetings! This is my first post on here.
I am trying to figure out where the best place is to look when trying to purchase a used vmc. I'm a noob machinist looking to start a small garage based business and want something entry level. However, My explorations has left me with some frustration because it would seem that most machines on the market are being sold by brokers or being sold through brokers hence eliminating the good deal potential in most cases due to the middle man costs.
Ideally, I would like to find myself diving into used machine with a decent work envelope thats modern and name brand enough to not suffer any compatibility issues regarding post processors in the newer Cam softwares available (if this is even an issue). I would also like to stay within the price range of 15-25k if possible as well. I realize that this is pretty limiting for the world of VMCs, so my options are probably narrowed down to a used Haas from the late 90's or something equivalent. Most importantly, I want a reliable machine with a tool changer at the very least which is reasonably user friendly.
So my questions are this...
Does anybody know any good broker free online classifieds, websites, auctions, etc? I don't want to pay some guy %30 for saying "I happen to know a guy, let me play middle man"
What brands should I being thinking of as a priority regarding reliability and ease of use (I'm currently thinking in the realm of Haas, Fadal, Hurco, Milltronics) Any suggestions? Thanks |
