This is a cheap (10.00 +8.00 shipping) USB keyboard emulator.
It has a program that lets you program its rotary encoder and 7-position lever to emulate keyboard comands. I ordered one. It looks promising. If it dosent work with mach2, i can use it with solidworks, etc.

Experience is the BEST Teacher. Is that why it usually arrives in a shower of sparks, flash of light, loud bang, a cloud of smoke, AND -- a BILL to pay? You usually get it -- just after you need it.
I will let everyone know how it worked out - in the meantime i have designed my own interface. i am an industrial designer, and enjoy designing HMI devices. thats what i aim to specialize in, after school..
now if only i were not too lazy to fix the doorbell so my roomies can hear the delivery man..
cheers,
robert
