| [QUOTE=pminmo;224549]Seriously? I'll have to try that one, maybe they would take the hint if it started happening a lot! I've got a lot of scrap lumber that I would love to use for a good cause. [/QUOTEDear pminmo, I do not know the legality of posting unstamped heavy objects back to the senders. What I do know is that if they are attempting some kind of a scam, and you recognise it, you can have a shed-load of fun. We were recently sent a letter purporting to be from a UK Government agency demanding a sum of money in order to comply with some regulation, together with an envelope for payment. A quick Google of the sender made clear their fraudulent intent. Having a large supply of 3/4" MDF scraps, it was easy to cut out a few weights that fit conveniently into standard-sized envelopes. To ensure that the weight causes maximum financial distress to the sender, cut the sharp corners and edges at 45 degrees ( you do not want the weight to burst out of the envelope in transit before arrival). Before placing the weight in the envelope, write a brief message on it. Let rip! This is not a telephone call "that is monitored for security and training purposes", but a simple message to the sender. Writing some of the shorter words of Anglo Saxon English may make you feel a bit better. It works for me. Keep that supply of weights handy, and be prepared to use them. Best Wishes, Martin |

| The following is a paraphrased statement made by a former US Post Office postmaster: The post office is actually a government supplied SERVICE. That's why it is called the postal SERVICE. You don't get services for free, you pay for them. Now, when it comes to setting rates for services, rate hearings are publicly held and usually anyone can attend. You can bet that the business lobby campaigns HEAVILY and HEARTILY for favorable rates, especially for bulk shipping rates. Fact it guys, we have the best services that lobbyists can buy...... |

| I have to try these methods with Telemarketers LOL. The Brick would work nice LOL. Dertsap yours is a little too much, but very funny. As for email spam I use Norton, Spy Sweeper, and never give the email address out to anyone but customers. To keep them from being blocked I scan their address in from their Business Cards or over the Phone. I just reported a Spam on this Site in the General Machining Section. Spammers need a Hobby.
