What types of material are you milling (or lasering) your ornaments out of:
wood, acrylic? What else?

I found some more.. I used to have a laser engraving business. The images were engraved and cut out of red alder sheet stock.

Thanks for the great idea about a clock. Looks like you really connect with the kids. All great ideas. Any of the students ever want to build thier own CNC?
I have attended a few NEMES meetings. I've got to get to the show early next year.

I'm planning on milling these ornaments out of thin sheet stainless, and perhaps thin wood also. Although for the wood, I need to make a bracket to mount my wood router to the quill of my bridgeport first. The idea first started when my wife asked me to make a star for the top of our tree. Seeing that we are getting a tree this coming weekend, this is moving higher on the project list!
