Fast 5 axis clip (video)

Check this out about 1/3 the way through, the 5 axis machines just ripping around, there are two clips a few seconds apart.

One question:

At the very beginning of the video, there is what seems like a wall that is somehow mechanized. It looks like its animated or something. Any idea what it is? Or who made it? Its amazing!

check this site out. There are vids for each day, a talk show and other stuff. In one of those intro vids, there is a big segment on that wall. It's computer controlled linear actuators.

I wasn't able to find the video you reffered to on the imts site.

However I did find out it is called an Aegis Hyposurface. It contains almost 900 linear actuators!

That second machine was the Hermle C40. We have one, and, yes, it is that fast.

Sexy Machine. What kind of material is that? I have worked with wood cnc's for years and I am getting into metal. Due to my ignorance I would freak out if my part started sparking like that. Crazy! I am assuming it is supposed to do that.
