Timeshare software, is it possible? | | Hi,
the post I'm about to write might open a can of worms but I'll post it anyway.
I was thinking the other day how a small business or individual could legally aquire the use of high end software without the huge initial layout. I'm sure there would be many situations where there is a genuine need for big dollar software but at the same time an unsound business case for spending the money. The thaught crossed my mind of an individual buying the licence and installing the software on a pc which would be hooked up to a high speed internet connection, other individuals could log in over the net from any location in the world (I'm pretty sure there's software which you can use to remotely opperate a computer) and use the software in some type of sub leasing arrangement on an hourly basis or something similar. This in itself would more than likely be in conflict with the end user licence agreement, but then it occoured to me if it was done in a timeshare type arrangement like holiday resorts sometimes are then each user would technically be a part owner of the software and would not be in conflict with the licence agreement.
I'm sure there are many legal, technical and logistical issues which I've not even considered yet, but I thought I'd post about my idea and see what others think. Feel free to throw in your oppinions.
Cheers
