    Condensing the board?

Scrolling ALL the WAY down to the bottom of this forum, I see seven boards with under 10 posts....that's posts not threads. And there's even more boards with under 100 posts. I don't know about others, but I find it kind of irritating and hard to navigate when you have to many boards in a forum(am I mixing up the terminology?). I was wandering if there was anyway to try and condense the forum. For example, IH doesn't need their own board...they can be under bench top mills. I'm sure there are several other examples if one took the time to look.

I realize I'm new to this forum and I hope this isn't taken the wrong way....I just want to help make this great forum even better.

My advice is worth less then you paid for it.

You are definately not out of line for asking this. There's many different opinions here, including yours. All are equally valued and important. There are also many different areas of interest to thousands of people who come here regularly, and this has worked good for the amount of diversity we have. If you become a 'regular', you will start finding ways of making your experience better.

If the list is too long, you can use the button on the upper right corner of each "Group" to hide that group if it is of no interest to you. I'd bet there are several you could close. Another alternative is to use the New Posts link in the blue menu bar towards the top of each page. (That's what I use, though if you wait more than a day or two, you'll have pages and pages of new posts.)

Hope you enjoy it here, and decide to stay.

I only go into the forum's when I'm looking for something specific, otherwise I just use the "Daily Posts" on the menu board near the top of the screen [ on every screen] this gives me the latest 100 ish post's and show's which are most recent. It's much easier to keep track of new threads and new posted messages inside threads.

Ditto. I do the same as Jerry.

Personally, I don't mind all the different forums - the layout will become your friend when you are looking for something specific for a specific piece of equipment or whatever.

Consistency is a good thing....unless you're consistently an idiot.
