The othe day I picked these out, this I,m going to turn into tool storage http://www.cnczone.com/forums/attach...id=20529&stc=1 Tool storage.JPG And this came out of one of those lazy boy recliners , I almost didn,t give it a second look but the metal underneath caught my eye and low and behold stepper motors with 20" ballscrews and limit switches , two of them http://www.cnczone.com/forums/attach...id=20530&stc=1 Stepper.JPG Now I got to figure a way to control the speed, I plugged it in and it works but moves very slow and I want to figure a way to speed it up, my current plan is to mount it as a power feed |

| Nice findings. What State,Town, and Street do you live? I'll have to start cruising your area. I have no idea how to make that faster except to get a different Stepper Motor. Question is which one, what size, and how much $$$. Did you post this in the "Are you a Pack Rat" Thread. LOL, your not alone.

Look for things that you can carry and fit in your car/truck. Cruise rich areas, most of the good stuff is there by the street left out as garbage. One mans Junk is another mans treasure. Oh, one more thing, stay away from it if it smells.

| We have a recycle/reuse center in our town. Picked up a whole PC (CRT, box, keyboad) one day for $35. Served a foundation for a M/B update on our Bridgeport Eztrak mill. People laugh at you for doing it - I find it to be a socially responsible thing to do as in reuse until it dies, not until you're tired of it. Besides that, my parents taught me to be cheap..... |

If you mean in to 120vac then if steppers, then they are steppers made to run as synchronous motors, and will run at whatever frequency the incoming supply is. For you that would be 60hz. Al.
