Hi, I'm heading to Florida around October/November this year and I thought I might keep an eye out for some used cnc components since that sort of gear is scarce and very expensive here in Australia. Can anyone recomend any stores which deals in used cnc parts? Cheers Splint |

| There's a fellow in Largo FL I see on Ebay all the time. Don't remeber the name. Why don't you use all of Ebay? Have your stuff shipped to a local place. Pick and take back with you. You can start shopping now. Karl |

| Here in Melbourne Florida, we have a company called Astro-Too. They are an electronics recycle center. People drop off old / broken CRT's, copiers, computers and such. They pay the indigent's minimum wage to dismantle stuff and fill various bins and dumpsters! The only problem is the help has no idea what has value! and how to handle it! They get perfect stepper and servo motors, but snip the leads so short, they are useless! I have found some goodies there! Eric |

| Thanks for the tips guys, I expect to be spending a bit of time in the Clearwater to Cape Coral area, some time between Homestead to Fort Lauderdale, some time around the Fort Pierce area, Cape Canaveral, Orlando, De Land and the Florida Keys (not in any chosen order as yet). Cheers Splint |

| Hello Splint, Nice run through FL you're planning. Here in Miami: http://www.smallparts.com - some rails, bearings, etc http://www.southern-tool.com - mostly new stuff, some used http://www.ammetalmaq.com - mostly used, some new http://www.mscdirect.com - everything, new http://www.grainger.com - everything, new http://www.floridabearings.com - umm... bearings http://www.dewitt-tool.com - Cutting tools, don't judge them by their website. It's new and they don't have most stuff posted yet. Otherwise, great prices. http://www.en.la.mcneel.com - Rhino software Not sure how you plan to take the stuff home. Shipping is very expensive to AU and that's probably why it's so expensive there. JR |

| Thanks JR, I don't expect to be taking too much home, I think I'll just be very selective in what I buy and take it home as hand lugage, I'll have to enquire about large things like rails but I have seen people get big stuff on international flights (a malibu surfboard for example) but weight will also need to be considered. Thanks again everyone for all the replies. Splint |

| Splint, This machine is available in Georgia. The owner is about to toss it for the cost of the iron just to get it out of the way.. If you like I could have him hold on to it until you get over here. Perhaps you and he could work together and make a combined profit.. The machine is an Okuma Millac 3V with OM control. All servo drives, spindle drive and motor's are in place. He was asking $2,500 for the complete machine - FYI. However, that may have changed. Let me know,

| Hi Jarwacot, thanks for the info on the machine but I think that might be more suitable for someone local and I don't know if I would have time to strip parts off of it to take home and taking the whole machine would probably not be viable. Geof, yeah a shipping container is a good idea, I don't see myself buying enough gear to fill a shipping container but If I could strike a deal with someone to share a container it could be viable. Not sure how I would go about finding someone who might be willing to help me out. Cheers Splint |
