| Reducing the windings in the field coil increases the speed. Reducing windings in the armature will not increase speed. It will probably cause an increase in armature current, loss of torque, excessive heating of copper and motor damage. |

| NeoMiller: I think it's the other way. When I used to rewind slot-car motors (Mabuchi permanent magnet 3 pole) fewer armature windings per pole gave higher revs. At the cost of acceleration due to lower torque. robotic regards, Tom = = = = = I used to be lost in the shuffle. Now I just shuffle along with the lost. |
