your nickname?

I'm guessing that more than half the people on here have been called "MacGyver" by someone at some point in their life. My group of nutty friends insist on calling me "the MOTPU". That's Master Of The Physical Universe" if you couldn't guess. It's a little over the top, but for some reason they have faith in my abilities. Any way, what's yours?

my name is ryan, but i guess the fellas where i did my apprenticeship got lazy so they called me "rhino". my other theory is they must have been talking to the ladies! HE! HE! HE! it's a kinda cool nick name though.

KRT9751: i was taught if it can't be fixed with a roll of duct tape and a few "zippy" or "cable" ties, it ain't worth fixin' (LOL)

Fifty_ohm is on a distinguished road

I worked on the radar package in an F4 Phantom fighter jet. To operate the radar without sending 200K watts downrange you used a "dummy" load. It measures 50 ohm. I'll let your imagination take it from there. After the military I was working in semiconductors on machines with high power RF supplies used for metal etching. Was bit with 2.5K watts when a connector failed and came loose. The nick really stuck after that.

Nickname

Always refered to as "WingNut" in the first shop I worked in. The Boss/Owner gave it to me because I was learning all the time and "Winging it a lot". Also the fact that he could never remember my name. After that no more nicknames. When I visit the old boss around the holidays he still calls me WingNut.

Bubbles is on a distinguished road

Bubbles... it comes from the Trailor Park Boys, the character Bubbles on the show. My safety GLasses at work are thick and round and when I wear them, I look just like him. (believe me, I'm not happy to admit it).....
