I need some help remembering a simple formula. I can't remember what the formula is for determining depth when countersinking with a 100 degree countersink to a specific diameter. Do I multiply the diameter y .3, .5 or another number to get the proper depth.

It may sound dumb but I don't use the 100 deg. CS very often.

I found a formula for my request. The formula is

(dia/2) TAN (degees/2)

This seems to work pretty well.

Dont forget you will need to adjust DOC to compenaste for tip diameter.

10mm Dia = 4.2mm depth.
(10/2) / Tan(100/2) = 4.2
I guess your number is .42
