Can anyone here recommend a reputable web hosting company? I had one that was great until I renewed my domain and they removed my site and deleted my account without contacting me. Then they sent me a bill for the next year! I then went to another one and have had problems accessing my site to add stuff, and it hasn't been on the web for two weeks. I think they're going under cuz two email links, billing & page support got bounced back with an error 550 "unknown user". Anyhow they're GlobalDDH, so don't use them. Thanks in advance for any info

| I used to run my own servers and even hosted a few dozen sites. I now just use other ppls services. I actually just switched to a provider I found on ebay. They now host 3 of my domains (websites) with unlimited everything for $10 a year. That wouldn't even cover the electricity for mine. Setup was painless and the load times are really fast. I'll look up the contact info. They had many different packages. I couldn't be happier with them.

Includes two domains, 20GB space, 750GB monthly bandwidth, etc. http://www.netfirms.com/max I found this from the Anandtech forums. Nobody is sure if netfirms will automatically charge you for renewal. Consensus says that it's best to use a virtual credit card number (Citi credit cards offer these). That way they can't automatically charge you later on. As for me, I've been using Godaddy for the last 6 years. One of the more reliable ones out there. I pay $40/year for the hosting and $10 for the domain. |
