I keep blowing these damn 5x20 fuses, I cant figure out why either (for a lathe), I think i am taking it really easy on the machine. It does not sound like the motor is struggling at all, and then suddenly....pop goes the fuse. Radioshack charges 2.50 for a pack of 4. Does anybody know of an online source that will sell me a large pack of fuses? I want the equivalent to this fuse: http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search |

| The best electronics supply I've used is Mouser.com http://www.mouser.com/catalog/624/432.pdf Have you removed and cleaned all the circuit boards, all it tal]kes is a small metal chip to short things out! Also, by replacing them your re-seating the connections! I'm not an ET so that's my 2 cents! Good luck, Eric |

| No metal chips in there, plus I have a plastic sheet covering electronics with silicon grease on the edges, a chip will really have to fight to get its way into there. I have not tried a slow blow, thats a good idea. THese are "Fast Acting", so i suppose the opposite of fast acting is the solution to my problem! Thanks, |

| I agree that you should find the problem, but these guys sell fuses by the box of 100 cheap. www.mcmelectronics.com/ |

I have a Haas HL-1 and a VF-2, both will blow fuses if there is a thunderstorm or if the lights blink - a common occurance around here. Sometimes I found them blown for no reason I can see - Haas says they'll blow if there is any fluctuation in incoming current. We got Radio Shack to order us a case of the fuses at a fraction of the cost per pack, not only cheaper, but we don't have to keep running out for more. |
