OK so im new here so you are going to have to bear with me here, as i am fairly new to the Machining world.
I build airguns, because regular guns are just too dangerous and airguns are easy to make and fun.
As up untill know i have been using a Taig CNC mill with the help of my shop teacher to mill the Aluminum Action that holds the Valves, Barrel and trigger housing. Everything i mill is eather aluminum or wood, so nothing really difficult to mill.
I was looking to get a Small Manual mill and lathe for my basement to continue working on these projects. Its just that i have no idea on what too look for in a mill, especially a minimill. SO my question to you is what would be a good manual standard mill that could handle aluminum(up to 3in thick) and a small lathe for Acetal and small pieces of aluminum. (i was thinking Taig....) as for the mill i really have no idea besides a standard Taig Or a Grizzly or somthing like that... but again i have no idea on whats good here.
I DO NOT WANT A BRDGEPORT!!!! i dont have the room or the need for such a massive item. Also i would like too spend about 1000$ too 1500$ on the mill and about 500$ max on the mini lathe.
Thanks
Angus-
Oh and P.S i really dont care on how "difficult" a mill is too use, as i can learn, so please dont factor my n00bish ability into this.....
