To learn to hover it can take 5 flight to 100 it all depends on YOU. If you can fly a R/C plane you'll learn much faster than having any not flown any R/C aircraft.

Here is a review I did for a trainer type Heli- http://rcuniverse.com/reviews.php?ac...ew&reviewid=81
Okay. I will go check out your review. Looking forward to
seeing what you had to say. Thanks for the link. BTW, can I
infer from what you said above that there is a realistic
software simulator available for learning how to fly / hover ?

Had a volinteer fire man come look at it. Even he is unsure of getting it down with out spending money. The plane is wedged between 2 notches in a tree, even the wind dont move it. It was real windy here the other day and it never budged. Oh well the plane(Firebird Commander) only cost $110 so im not out that much. We did have fun while it lasted anyway! The pisser is I have the remote TX and I dont think it can be used with anything else! Its a FM27.255 CH6
I dont know if I can buy just a reciever and servos for the radio?

Nope, the remote won't work with anything else... If you are intersted in electric airplanes, go to www.ezonemag.com in the forums (ezone) there is tons of info to help you out. Also ask for help with your stuck airplane, as there will be tons of suggestions for getting it out there.

RCuniverse is also very good, but if electrics is your thing, there will be more info/experience found at ezone.

here kitty, kitty

here's an idea........ find a neighborhood cat and throw it up in the tree , when the fire department comes to get it out ,(because your son is crying for his cat) just have them get the plane too!! Good Luck Ö¿Ö
