S.E. Michigan CNC users meet-up

There is a GO-Tech meeting tonight at Maker-Works in Ann Arbor. Map. Although not limited to just CNC, GO-Tech a geek show & tell with 5min presentations held the 2nd Tuesday of the month. We have been meeting for 4 1/2 years. Last meeting we had about 50 folks attend around 10 presentations and the coolest was one of the guys shot some ping-pong balls through a 1/4" piece of masionite using piece of pvc tubeing and a vacuum. There is a yahoo tech group "notbago" (it origanlly called Not breakfast at Great Oak.

Meetings are free, open to everyone and you do not need to be a member of Maker-Works to attend meetings there.

Just a reminder the April meeting of the S.E Michigna CNC Users Group will be April 4th, 7pm at Maker Works. MAP 3765 Plaza Dr. Ann Arbor, MI.

Anything CNC related is game: Projects, Additive machines like the Makerbot or subtractive mills, CAD, CAM, and the holy war issues like Servos vs. Steppers, NURBS vs. Meshes, and EMC2 vs. Mach3. Meetings are free and open to everyone.

Shopbot has graciouslly offered to sponsor us so there will be some goodies.

The last meeting had around 27 folks attending and Peter & Tom showed off the plasma cnc they built.

If you have anything you have made or some cool tool/fixture please bring it along and show it off!

Perhaps we will discuss work holding methods such as, clamps, two-sided tape, mitie-bite, snap jaws...
