Hello there, glad to see a place like this exists.
Well, I decided that I wanted to get into machine work about a year ago when I took a tour of a local trade school's machine tech program. Seeing all of the projects they were working on, I was reminded of all the things I've thoguth about making as a younger person. I enrolled into the program, and although I expected to be taught how to make things, egineer, and things like that, I't sbecome apparent to me that the program will give me mostly just basic training.
When I graduate the program, I hope to be able to get a job at a machine shop, doing basic assembly work, but also plan on maybe furthering my knowledge in mechanical engineering, or something that will allow me to utilize my skills to make things I've always wanted to.
Anyway, I tend to make long-winded posts like this, sorry. I'm glad that I found this place, because now I have exposure to people who are in the line of work I'm training for, and migh actually be able to help point me toward the right path for what I want to do.
In any event, I don't know how active I will be right off the bat as I mainly registered today to ask a saftey question, but once my training resumes, I will probably be more active.
But, anywah, I'm sure a 'Hello' would've sufficed. :P
