To make you feel a little better I have been hit for 2K about 9 years ago from this very thing. Was indeed to good to be true. It stung and I've never replied to a western union only type of transaction since. I've been ripped off by paypal also. Buyer said he didn't receive item and got his money back. My ups tracking number had two lines written through it by the ups front counter girl so I kept entering the wrong number. Also it is impossible to get anyone from paypal on the phone.

I still use paypal but it is like rubbing salt in a wound every time. I feel your pain. This is an expensive lesson learned.

I was referring to WU money transfer form filled out at the bank. I'm not sure you wish to focus on my earlier post so I'll repeat the point. "My point about bank practice is if I want to wire money to a relative or someone I know that's fine. If the bank denied my request because I didn't know the party I would have walked out, warned, and not looked to use WU service elsewhere." Now at this point the bank isn't dictating I cancel but offering me a warning in their opinion. In this case do you think I would say fu and wire the money anyway? I'm not putting limits on the bank.
Again, if my branch gave me the same info as the second,
it would have been a sufficient warning.

You are correct about the red flag after the fact. An unfortunate time to learn. I only started this thread with the purpose it might help someone learn before the fact. It didn't matter how big a dumb ass I was. I'm too old to give a ****.

I'm not calling you out. You get blinded by a deal that is to good to be true. It's like new poker players. They don't know when to fold their pocket Ace's and will bleed out money cause they have the best hand pre flop but it only wins 35% of the time. They get blinded by the hand and forget their is more to it.

I really really feel for you. And for others to kept beating you is a little wrong. You stated in the first post you kind of knew better or had a feeling something wasn't right, but you did it anyways. I'm not going to lash you. Your wife is doing that enough. I never told my wife about mine. I just had to come up with replacement money which took me a while. Almost a year I think it was.

I don't think we are on the same page in more ways than one. My 8:11 post was responding to Keebler303. I haven't
got to yours yet. Give me a pm and I'll post tomorrow.

I guess the old saying "Buyer beware" is all too true. And "if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is". Thanks for this posting and the edumacation...
