Buy me a Beer?
Why does spam

Piss people off so much. I accidentally send out multiple emails and had 3 people asked to be removed from the site. I get tons of spam and I unsbscribe from it, but not to places that I have signed up at like this site. Can't people see that it's an obvious mistake, it's not like I send out emails to everyone every week. Why does this make people so MAD???

Paul, maybe it just happened that it was the last straw for a few, because of the volume of other spam they were getting. Don't be discouraged. I think what you are offering here has got to stick in most people's minds as a really useful tool and that sooner or later they'll look you up again to get some help with something.

Paul,
I back Hu 1000% on what he posted. Yes i have received multiple e-mails from you, i know you did not do it deliberately.....
I'm not even planning on coming to the USA to come and kill you as retalliation...LOL!

The only time i see mail as spam is when people try to sell me Viagra or trying to lure me to XXX sites, THAT'S WHEN I GET MAD!

Hardmill, I LOVE your spam!!!LOL

Paul,

Don't even pay attention, as Klox pointed out, trying to lure one to xxx sites is the type of spam I don't like(since my kids use this computer), I will be more understanding about Viagra when the need arise.LOL,LOL

Best Regards,

GOMEZ107

Paul, I always thought that if you ask to be removed from a spam mail then you are asking for more spam because then they know they have a live body on the end of that email.

Did your spam reduce when you said to remove you?

I recieved several also. Not a big deal. In fact, I think I recall seeing an option in my CP for allowing emails to be sent to me.. Wait, after looking again, there's not an option for NO. Is that cuz I'm a mod? Or is that for everyone?

Either way.. you posted about it, you didn't do it on purpose. TF'nB if you have to delete a couple extra duplicate emails.

'Rekd teh If there were as much patience as there were stupidity in this world.. we'd all get along so much better

On the topic of reducing spam, i use a program called Mailwasher. It is an email checker, which doesn't download the emails to your pc like outlook express does (saving you from viruses), it will give you a list of emails, subject, etc, and if there are any you don't like the look of, you can "bounce" them away. An email is sent out saying basically, this email adress does not exist. Although most spam doesn't contain a real email adress, it works for some.
