new member needs extensive assistance

First I'd like to introduce myself as this is my first post on cnczone. My name is Ben, I am not employed in a CNC related field, but with the help of some friends and forums like this I converted a micro mill to CNC. I have a science/technical background and can pick up on most topics pretty quickly. What I haven't had is real "instruction" and that leaves alot of gaps in my fundamental cnc knowledge. I recently got involved in a situation that I hope some of the members here will be willing/able to assist me with.

I won't go into much detail in this post other than to ask that someone point me to the appropriate forum section for my needs.

Backstory: I've been trying to assist a friend who purchased a refurbished Shoda Router with a Fanuc 15m controller. They are using Mastercam Router software for creating geometries and writing code. The router and controller are very different from their previous machine and they've been having a difficult time getting everything configured. I offered to try and help out and with the exception of a few topics, we're getting close to having it useable. I'm familiar with Mastercam, but my experience has been limited to my converted mill running mach3 for metalworking only. We're working on getting operator manuals for the router and the fanuc controller, but we could use some insight from someone with first hand experience with this type of equipment.

I'll start a thread in the most appropriate forum area if someone can point me in the right direction.
