Hi all,

My name is Scott and I am so green to all of this and this site. I know what a cnc machine can do but I have so many questions and don't know where to look in this site.

I have a Grizzly 1006 collom type mill and a Grizzly "knee" mill and a HF lathe.

I wanted to convert the 1006 to a cnc machine but the information on this site is so massive that I can not seem to get a grip on where to start.

Where do I start looking in this fourm to find answers to questions about stepper motors vs servo motors, or what design programs Solid Works vs. ?, or what is Mach3?

I guess that it boils down to "I'm so green that I don't even know what questions to ask."

Can anyone break it down so that I can kind of get a grip on all of this or at least tell me where a break down of information can be found.
