Hello: I'm a newbie just putting in a post to say hi. I am building a DIY 3 axis router table for wood and trying to keep costs low. I have looked at many plans and the unit I'm looking at building will have a table space of 3' x 4' and I plan to use this machine to build wood forms jigs etc... for guitar building. also will use it to build a better machine. That being said I know that there are a lot of intelligent minds on this site and if anyone wants to throw some info my way please feel free to do so. Thanks Rob |

I am getting ready to start work on the table after reading the manual (Build Your Own CNC Machine). The first modification that I am thinking about is extending the table width 1 foot in the X axis giving me a table 3' X 4' and I expect I will have to reinforce the gantry for such a modification (Any thoughts from anyone reading would be appreciated.)I also want to use the timing belt method for the X and Y as it looks like a cheaper easier and better way to go again (Any thoughts from anyone reading would be appreciated.) Thanks for your time Rob37 |
