Where do the cnc jobs come from?

Can any one explain to me where machine shops get their work/jobs.

Do machine shops have a dedicated person that looks for jobs, for the entire machine shop?

Do you guys just bid online for jobs?

How does this work?

Where do you get work for your machine shop...

Is every one just trying to get any work they can or is their a certain way every one does this...

Do people just call your shop and ask you to do this for them?

Are you plan to open a machine shop/ you all ready have one and looking for work for your shop? If you answer yes to second part of the question then my suggest is go to show. If you don't have a shop yet don't waste your time.

No I am not looking for jobs and no I don't have or own a shop.

I am just interested about how it happens in the real world.

I just want to know.

How does an average machine shop gets its jobs?

Like what is the normal process?

Trade shows, advertising in local and national press, trade websites trade magazines, local radio.

Make/ buy small "gifts", mugs, beer coasters etc with your details on them and sent them to prospective clients.
