Thumbs up The CNC BBQ goes global !!! (Meet other CNC enthusiasts)

Due to the success of the CNC BBQ's down under, we are now encouraging others around the world to do the same. Not only have they continued regularly over the years, they have spawned to other states, and even to other places around the world.
The first ones usually start of with 5 or six guys, and they grow rapidly upon each event.
It's a time to show off your machine, share pictures and stories with like minded folk, while enjoying a BBQ and a drink with each other. You'll be amazed at how many in your area have similar interests.

So come on guys, announce the event in HERE and lets do it world wide. (Who's got the guts )

    Just a few tips ....
Insert in the thread title "BBQ", "the name of your area" and "the date"
Announce the event and date, instead of asking if people would be interested (It always works)
Make sure you send PM invitations to those you know in the area who are also on the Zone.
Ask them to add thier intention of coming in that thread. (This bounces the thread and demonstrates to others that there will be people coming.)
Bump the thread every so often.
Give at least a months notice. (Gives time for people to prepare)
Try and have at least one working machine at the event. (We have had 7 machines at one of ours)
Make sure you post photos of the event after it happened to show people what they missed ot on and to make an effort the next time.

Go for it ! It wont fail, and you'll be doing yourself and others a favor.

Here is what we have built up, you can achieve the same....

    And

EDIT: Ok so the current upcoming CNC BBQs are.....

    Minnesota
    Far North QLD

Anybody in Minnesota want to give this a try? I'd be willing to host the first one at our shop.

    Good morning ynneb,

I posted a new thread this mornin. Thanks for the link. Slight problem.......I was still on my first cup of fuel, and I don't think I put anything in the subject line. Is there anyway to fix that or should I repost?

    Regards,
    Mike

Good one Med-pac, I can see that you did post a title. Can I strongly suggest that you post a date in the title. It will make a big difference to peoples perception. I'll bump your thread daily to make sure that it is seen. Maybe we can have a mock conversation in it to keep it active. Every few days I'll delete the conversation.
Incidentally, do you have a machine? Maybe you can post a picture of the venue or machine, either / or. Anything that will create interest and a responce.

    Good afternoon Benny,

I'll have to double check with the owner when he comes in Friday, but I was thinking sometime in November. We have a full machine/fab/welding shop. 4'x8' plasma(torchamate-hypertherm 1000), 5'x10'x6" router(built by us-Mach3), 2 vertical mills, lathe, 8' 75 ton hyd press brake(betenbender), 8' hyd. shear(betenbender), 252 miller with alum. spool, miller 350lx synchrowave.

    Regards,
    Mike

    Default "IN your area"

The only problem with that is we live under the rule:
"You can't get there from here"!

Our entire county is bypassed on all 5 sides.

You want anything it's 40 miles in any direction.

    "Inventor"
A "True" machinist loves it when they say: "That can't be Made"!!!

I voted "I'd consider it a possibility" only because that's about as a excited as I get about anything.
