you are going WAY too fast on the spindle. I cut at 16k at 3-4000mm/min with a two flute!!
Hi, very very noob on the cnc world talking:
I've build myself a cnc to play with and after some tunnig and test cuts i've gonne for a bigger project.
I'm using this bit 5pcs Extra Long 3mm 2 Flute HSS Aluminium Extended End Mill Cutter CNC Bit Kit | eBay and cutting some kind of plywood. With the zero experience i have, i'm using the feeds and speeds from easel, with a small difference.
Feed: 800mm/min
Plunge: 300 mm/minDepth per pass: 0.8 mm/min
My spindle is Makita 3709, which only have one speed of 30.000 RPM.
Problem:
20 min after i started the milling, i start smelling burning wood ... 5 min later the bit was all black and the chipload was on fire. The chiload was not really chipload was more like a dust.
What am i doing wrong ? How can i adapt feed and speed to different materials or bits ?
I looked all over but the feeds and speeds that i see are all 3,9999 mm of depth, and that my machine can't handle.
Hope you cnc'ers can help me.
Thank you
