Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines perform functions of drilling, milling, turning, etc. CNC Mills are usually defined in terms of the number of axes they handle. Axes are generally labeled as x and y for horizontal movement and z for vertical movement. The number of axes of a milling machine is significant. A standard manual industrial mill typically has four axes: * Table x. * Table y. * Table z. * Milling Head z. A five-axis CNC milling machine has an extra axis. This axis is the basis of a horizontal pivot for the milling head. This allows a greater flexibility for machining with the end mill at an angle with respect to the table. A six-axis CNC milling machine has another horizontal pivot for the milling head, perpendicular to the fifth axis.

Hello, I'm interested in CNC milling machine. If someone has any literature on milling machines, I'd like you forward, if it is not a problem. Actually all about 3axis 4axis 5axis and 6axis milling machine. I was trying to find, but not successfully, and I need it for college.
Thank you!
hi, Jecko, have you found the right CNC milling machine? Few days ago, I found some B2B marketplace, like alibaba.com,tradekey.com, en.ofweek.com which has a lot of CNC manufacturers, hope can satisfy your needs.

Dear All,
Let me allow to introduce our CNC control for milling or lathe machines. http://www.nct.hu/cnc_products/controls
We do many retrofit with this control. Its professional EtherCAT compatible CNC with Heidenhain EnDAT measuring interface.
Please check some retrofit projects:

simploifying, each axis has an alternatively movement
also each axis controlled by motors
these motors controlled simultaneously by a program.. runs from a pc trough on windows, or runs from a programmed plc..
to start look for turbocnc that has description from very basics, how g code describe the movements..
next level go to cnc cookbook, and that man knows everything you could learn in the school..
all other suggestion how a manufacturer solves control, trough Ethernet or direct feed or any other way only details what really don't help you to get on the track... indeed will confusing you..
if you interested on the mechanical built out, then look for different manufacturers, how they solved things..
over 5 axis use to be robotic arms are used that's slightly differ from a ""milling machine""
however following it gradually from basic 3 axis machines, on the end you going to understand it..
Great.. Thank for information...
Kindly share more information of CNC Milling..
