How big of a working area do you need? is 4ft x 4ft enought? If so you could build a Joes 4x4 alot quicker then a mechmate.

I would have built one of those if it had been around when I started building my CNC router.

I need a 4 x 8. This just isnt for hobby. I doing this for money too. Mostly for money. So I need to be able to stick a 4 x 8 sheets right into the machine.
then it sounds like the mechmate is the way to go. I hope that you put up a great build log for that machine here. I have not seen a really good one for the mechmate.
From what I have seen about building that machine, you might want to look into using actual v-rail instead of spending the hours it takes to make the v-rail yourself.
Yea im just going to follow the plans exactly. I will put up a reall good log here. I think I will go ahead and model it first using the plans. This way I know excatly what needs to be done when I do get the chance. I have time before I will actually be able to start building it because I haven't got my house yet with the garage. That will happen in the next few months.
